I seem to recall that high-end APC UPS have recently changed the signaling protocol and don't work quite properly with the built-in plugin.

I looked at your setup for this UPS and I would suggest that you rethink that part.  You have it setup so that you almost completely run the batteries down before you initiate shutdown.  That could be a mistake for several reasons.  First, those reserve numbers are estimates at best and will be less reliable as the batteries age.   Second, is three minutes (or less)  enough time to complete the shutdown?   Third, the recharge time on the batteries is 8 to 24 hours.  If you have a shutdown and then the power comes back and you wait one hour  to restart the server and then ten minutes later the power goes out again, you will not have accumulated enough charge on those batteries to do a clean shutdown.

I would suggest thinking about previous power outages in your area.  What was the maximum time that the power might be interrupted and then come back on in the period of time that your UPsSmight carry the server?    In my case, that is thirty seconds!

Mine usually lasts about 65 mins. I have other machines on that shutdown when power is lost.
