September 28, 20178 yr Right now both of my non-parity array disks use XFS. If I shuffle the data around and reformat both of them to BTRFS can I create snapshots of some of my shares so I can back them up? Or would the file system on each drive be independent of each other?
September 28, 20178 yr Community Expert Since each disk has an independent filesystem you could only snapshot and send/receive to another disk data that is on a single disk, you could have a backup array with the same number of disks (of the same or larger capacity) and send/receive from disk1 on server A to disk1 on server B and so on.
September 28, 20178 yr Author Hmm that's not ideal. I guess I could have the shares use only one disk as opposed to both, that way all the data is on one disk.
