unable to fully boot.

I've been running my server headless so sometimes it's an issue figuring out what it's up to. I had tried restarting the machine a few times (it had worked in the past) but the box refuses to fully boot.

When I put a monitor on it and rebooted, it seems to boot fine, tests the SATA controllers and then hangs on a black screen with a _ flashing. I'm really not sure what to do from here...

So I messed with it and got it to boot. Seeing the monitor on it helped me isolate an issue too. I've uploaded a photo. Controller 2 port 2 sometimes hangs but not always. Over the past few years when I power the box on it sometimes just never comes up so I reboot and then everything works fine. This is likely the issue I'm facing. I don't think the card is dead since it works otherwise but it's odd.

You might try a new data cable to your SASLP controller but you might just have to get a new controller. Marvel based controllers like the SuperMicro SASLP/SAS2LPs can be problematic for unRAID v6 (if your on that version anyway).  So if you have to get a new controller I would recommend an LSI based version.  I get used server pulls off eBay.

That's the funny thing - it works really well when it's up but after a reboot sometimes it takes a second reboot.
