How to find unRAID Tower IP address?

Featured Replies

I had to reset my router and all my IP address changed. ??? I know how to find them on my Mac and PC but can't remember or find in Help, Wiki or searching how to find my unRAID Tower (I have looked and looked and looked...and of course it is going to be obvious and seem foolish I missed it :o).  I must have it to log on in Safari since http//tower doesn't work on a Mac.   I found some info here about making the IP address static (permanent?).  Of course I must know it to begin with and will changing this keep it the same always.

On a separate note I use Desktop Connect App on my iPad so is there any way to make my Mac and PC's IP address static?

Login to the server then run ifconfig eth0

that should show you the IP

Thanks, knew it was easy but I can't remember this (or anything else ;D).

What does the eth0 part do?  I just type in ifconfig and it seems to give me the same information.

On another note, I noticed that I can log into my router's web interface and browse all the IPs on the network.  I just look for the one that isn't assigned to a computer name (since all my other computers run Windows), and figure that one must be the unRAID server.  Seems simpler to me than telnetting in or hooking up a monitor and keyboard (since my server runs headless).

it just lists the settings for eth0. if you do ifconfig by itself it will list all interfaces and I didnt want to confuse him :)
