Cache Drives Not Working - Not utilising full size?

Featured Replies

Hey Folks,

Complete newbie to unRAID and giving it a spin after recently outgrowing our synology unit :)

We have configured four SSD drives into our cache which are a mixture of:

2 x 256 Samsung Pro

2 x 128 Samsung

However, the total cache comes out to be 384GB and I am a little lost as to why this would be the case, surely it should be more like 768GB?

If anyone can help me figure this out, and for the record, I am sure its a dumb setting I have-not set somewhere :)

The cache defaults to the BTRFS equivalent of raid1 so with the drives you mention 384GB of usable space is what is expected.   It is possible to switch it to raid0 but then you lose redundancy.

Default is raid1, but it can be changed:
