October 22, 20178 yr Community Expert I'm new to unRaid with an HP Proliant server and no matter what I try I can't get it to not drop into the shell when trying to boot up. I keep getting the "Press Esc in X seconds to skip startup.nsh" prompt and it goes to shell o matter what I try.... any ideas?
October 22, 20178 yr Does legacy boot work? (IE: setting the boot order to have Flash boot as legacy and not as EFI/UEFI)
October 22, 20178 yr Author Community Expert I am in the process of trying this, but am formatting the drive first as I also tried booting ubuntu from the same flash and could not do that either. So, that led me to the change to legacy only. not UEFI only.
October 22, 20178 yr Have you tried using the USB Creator tool to create the flash drive? You can use it for EFI https://forums.lime-technology.com/topic/59025-unraid-usb-creator-tool-version-01-beta/
October 22, 20178 yr Author Community Expert did try that. This time I got the flash to be recognized, but have the same issue with going to shell. I am getting very tired... Will try the EFI boot thing once more then will throw this thing into the lake. (or go back to FreeNAS, at least that boots).
