I use https://hub.docker.com/r/djaydev/motioneye/ (deleted) docker. All paths mounted to NVMe disk.
When I open motioneye website to watch my camera - both HDDs start spining, in syslog i see read SMART.
This is bad. 99.9% of the time my hdd's should sleep.
That happens not each time. But each ~12 hours or more.

Hello, everyone,

I have the problem that Motioneye does not start after installation.

It always gives the error message "CRITICAL:root:failed to read settings from "/etc/motioneye/motioneye.conf": [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/etc/motioneye/motioneye.conf'"

What do I do wrong or what could I do to make it work?

Can you show the settings of your container?

Hi everyone,

currently running into the same error. Used the template as is.

I just checked there is no motioneye.conf in the configuration path, anyone can tell me where to get it from?

Many thanks

I am unable to set time zone in UI even after enabling it in the motioneye.conf file

"# path to the localtime file
# (enable this to configure the system time zone from the UI)
local_time_file /etc/localtime"

Please guide me how to set time or change timezone for this docker

any luck getting time to work correctly?? its right on the time stamp but the images are way off. they are being written as 7pm being 00-00-00!

when i change this in the config the docker won't even start.

Anyone use it or more new ghcr.io/motioneye-project/motioneye:edge ?

One of two disks still spinning up with 50% chance when i open motioneye web interface.

Don't understand why - i keep all records only in cache drive without sync to hdd.

Yes, within the motioneye appdata directory you'll see some files named "thread-1.conf", "thread-2.conf" etc. that relate to each camera. In theory stop the docker, identify which config file applies to which camera, make a backup of the file then change the necessary properties in the file and restart the docker.
