(Solved) Preclear guidance, please

Featured Replies

Hi all, I'm trying to run my first preclear after upgrading to V6 and there is so much competing/conflicting information to be found I am dizzy and have a headache and no clue what to do.

I read about old vs new preclear scripts;

then there's something about a script you have to run on a preclear script to make your own script, for some reason there can't be a fixed one (?)

then there's something about a "faster" preclear

then I've found  pingpong exchanges of there's a V6 preclear plugin/it doesn't work/try again/nope/yes/nope

I don't mean to be casting aspersions on anyone or anything, there's just so much information out there and I can't figure out what's authoritative.

Please!  What's the authoritative V6 preclear guidance? Thank you so much. And apologies in advance if I missed an obvious answer.

My advice (I am assume that you are running either the latest beta or the current stable version) would be to simply install the preclear plugin and use the built-in script that is bundled with it.  I know the pain that you are going through if you are trying to figure out the situation that surrounds the preclear scripts themselves as JoeL.'s original one will not work not work with any of the current version of unRAID!  (That script is not being currently supported!)  I am not completely sure about the status  the other ones that are available but (in my opinion) there is no reason for a beginner to even consider using them...
