October 31, 20178 yr My system will occasionally lock up as the file server VM wants to do an update and then the system will lock up on restart. I'm trying to find a fix, but that is not this issue today. My issue is the VM page is now blank. Yet I can see the domains and the images underneath it. I simply can't start any VM. Included screen shots.
October 31, 20178 yr Community Expert Likely a corrupt or misconfigured libvirt.img, diagnostics would show which.
October 31, 20178 yr Author Here are my diagnostics. Thanks for helping. beast-diagnostics-20171031-1558.zip
October 31, 20178 yr Community Expert It's corrupt, if you have a backup restore it, if not you need to delete it, re-create and then re-create your VMs, if you use the same settings you can point to the existing vdisks and not lose anything on them.
October 31, 20178 yr Author Sorry in panic mode. What is the path? Can't seem to find it. Nevermind. Ok. I can't find the file to delete it. I have backups of appdata and did a restore but that didn't work either. What Now? Edited October 31, 20178 yr by Slothinator 007
October 31, 20178 yr Community Expert appdata is for dockers, you'd need a backup of libvirt.img. 9 minutes ago, Slothinator 007 said: What Now? 22 minutes ago, johnnie.black said: if not you need to delete it, re-create and then re-create your VMs, if you use the same settings you can point to the existing vdisks and not lose anything on them.
October 31, 20178 yr Community Expert Forgot to mention that if you have a backup of the XMLs you can use those, but for the future it's better to just backup libvirt.img
October 31, 20178 yr Author Ok. Found the file I need to delete. I do have a backup of the XMLs. Recent as two days ago. 2 questions How to delete the file (Do I have to command line this?) Nevermind I got it deleted finally How to use the XML's to recover? Thanks Edited October 31, 20178 yr by Slothinator 007
October 31, 20178 yr Author I get this error on 2 of them 1 is working. operation failed: unable to find any master var store for loader: /usr/share/qemu/ovmf-x64/OVMF_CODE-pure-efi.fd
October 31, 20178 yr Community Expert Sorry, not sure about that, probably a missing loader that was stored on the old libvirt.img, maybe someone else can help.
November 1, 20178 yr Author I figured it out. Using IDE instead of VirtIO fixed my problem. This is now solved. Thank you for your help.
