iTunes not scanning music on an unRaid share

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

I'm running unRaid 6.3.2. I've changed the iTunes media folder location option to point to my music folder on the unRaid server. Click "OK" and nothing happens in iTunes, am I missing something? How do you make it scan?

Cheers,

Personally, I can't stand iTunes and never use it, but it appears that the media folder location in iTunes is not where your music is stored.  Rather its where the metadata (database) for the media is stored.  You've still got to add your music folder to the library.

Thanks Squid. What do you use for music management? I have a MacBook pro, and want to also sync playlists to my android phone. Anything you can recommend?

Its more a case of myself vs Apple Products as a whole
