Yet another format report

Featured Replies

Forgive me if I don't understand all the particulars well yet, I'm new here. I installed unRAID yesterday, and elected to do the test version, after reading about this format bug and all.

Here's what I have:

A cheap Zotac C2D motherboard, 2GB RAM.

A tiny 4GB usb stick.

2 WD15EADS drives, brand new.

And here's what I did:

Yesterday:

Tossed the parts together.

Installed unRAID. Set it up for static network address and NTP.

Added a single disk as a data disk.

Started the array, it showed as unformatted. Ran the mkreiserfs by hand, restarted array, disk shows up perfectly.

Copied some data to it overnight. Writes averaging 30MB/s without a parity disk.

Today:

Looked over the data I copied. All seems well. Decide to add the second disk in.

Stop the array. Switch to the devices page. Add the second disk in the second slot (free version).

Start the array, so that I can format the second disk using mkreiserfs.

Both drives show as unformatted.

I ran mkreiserfs on the second disk.

I started writing this post. ;)

I've left it in this state for the moment, in case there's something further you'd like to know.
