750ti passthrough only works with Seabios

Any reason that this would be the case? I had an Intel iGPU as primary and a 750ti installed and created a new ubuntu VM, which uses EFI from the looks of it. No video out. But with a Windows 7 VM that uses seabios it seemed to work fine.

 

Could it be the card lacks UEFI firmware?
