New Install, Trouble Copying Data to Shares

Featured Replies

I have installed the latest build of unRAID onto my NAS and setup the 2x 2TB drives.

1 as parity and 1 as data for the time being.

As I write this the parity build is at about 7%

From what i understand i should be able to use the array now just will be rather slow.

Upoun trying to copy data accross from a Win7 64Bit machine it gets about half way through a 170mb file and then slows to

a crawl and eventually the file copy fails.

If i copy small files one by one it seems to work OK for a while before doing the same thing.

The files i have managed to get accross (small vids, music) all read fine.

Do i just need to wait for the parity to finish or is there a bigger problem?

P.S. have tried 2 different NIC's but they are both realtek chipsets.

The only way for anybody to know what is happening on your server is for you to post a "syslog".

Instructions are in the wiki under "troubleshooting"

http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=Troubleshooting#Capturing_your_syslog

Otherwise, we can read your description of the symptoms, but have no idea as to the cause.

After the initial parity build finished it all worked fine.
