Is it possible to mount 2 ssds in a pci slot?

Featured Replies

Does any of you know if there are adapters available that take one or two 2.5" drives and mount it in an unused low profile PCIE slot?

Low profile, no. High profile, Akasa makes one.

Thanks, I need low profile. Might have to go for an m-sata adapter then. Hope those are available.

Are they just standard 7mm thick SSDs in a 2.5" format? Do you already have SATA ports available on your motherboard to plug them in? You're just looking for a space to put them?

I'd suggest some two sided tape and just stick them in a convenient spot in your case.

If they are mechanical drives then this makes the situation a bit more tricky. I assume you don't have any open 3.5" bays? There are trays that allow you to adapt 1 or more 2.5" drives into a 3.5" drive space.
