My Experiences

Featured Replies

Just chiming in with my experiences of this bug.

It reformatted 8 x 1tb discs when adding the 9th full of DVD backups.  Fortunately, with the help of the great forum community, I was able to recover most of my data.

I think I lost perhaps 32 discs, some of which *may* have had errors in the first place (I use the quick analyse feature in DVD Shrink across all of my titles, which I had not done when initially loading - it's sometimes reported errors on titles which play correctly).

I did send an email in outlining my circumstances, but seeing as it looks like it's nearly solved now, all is good.

For the record, my setup is (vague, since I can't remember what's exactly in the box)...

9 x Western Digital Green Power hard drives, various incarnations of the same model (now 10)

2 x 1gb RAM

1 x Gigabyte motherboard with gigabit network, video and 8xinternal SATA ports

1 x Supermicro 8 port PCI SATA Controller

500w generic power supply

CPU, I can't remember.  Intel, but not sure what...

Obviously, the above is of little use.

What is probably useful though is the thread that helped me bring it back, together with some (rather wordy) notes on my approach to confirming that the recovered data is usable...

Look forward to new release.
