November 17, 20178 yr Hi all, I'm trying to condense some stuff down that I've piece mealed over the years into one box and want to figure out how possible it is to do so? My current setup is as follows - Unraid 6.3.5 box - i7 4790K with 8GB of Ram, one onboard NIC, one secondary NIC - runs plex and houses my media on 13tb PfSense Box with a processor is old as dirt - 3 NICs, one in, two out (PIA VPN and Open) two individual routers Torrent Box - also old as dirt, runs windows 10 painfully, sonarr, two torrent programs Unraid is hooked up the open network which allows plex to be served outside of the home, torrent box is connected to vpn for encryption. Ideally I'd like to run a pfsense VM, linux or windows VM running sonarr, and unraid running my plex docker. So I've got a few questions. First and foremost is it possible to do all 3 and make it work properly? If so what hardware am I currently missing possibly? Best I can figure is I may need more network interfaces for my unraid box - I don't really need the secondary router for encrypted wifi (thought I'd use it, never really do) so if I'm able to create a virtual lan for the vpn that's fine. I read about isolating a nic to a vm and watched a youtube video about it so I think all that will work fine. Sorry this is all garbled, not entirely sure where to start as I'm really just starting to think about it - wasn't an idea before as the unraid processor was super underpowered prior to upgrading it to the 4790K. Thanks in advance.
