In a similar scenario I have pinned the last 4 cores to a Windows 10 VM with the hope that this is how it works but have not confirmed that it is the case. If information could not be sourced it should be possible to see potential differences by comparing results from multithreaded benchmarks between different VM core assignment setups. Link to comment
