Are you using Safari?  There might be an issue with Safari + authenticated websockets used behind the scenes

Are you suggesting, that instead of 'Settings/Disk Settings/Enable auto start' we implement that functionality in the syslinux boot menu?

Sure, why not.  I can't imagine you've got anything more pressing to do ;-)

I would suggest keeping the autostart setting in the GUI but adding a boot option (in the menu) which would override that setting.  I see it as a tool for allowing a 'normal' boot where the user is worried that starting the array  automatically might cause a some data loss.

still on RC12 but when its done with his current tasks i give it an update to rc13.

However, its sitting on a Ryzen7 1700 and with Global c states disabled, no crashes or lockups here, it's only eat the energy bill ;)

(i am a little bit lazy for making some time free to hook up a monitor/keyboard and enable it...)

Got an email from AMD(!)  I'll keep everyone updated on progress as it happens.

Replaced 'tabs' for 'spaces'

I'm sorry limetech, we can't be together anymore....  :D

PS: Install went fine.

Forgot to chime in - my issue was fixed with the Samsung SSD drive temp going +100 or whatever it was. Muchos gracias!

Do you mean encrypt existing data in-place?  No.

The email we received was from someone from "AMD Customer Care team".  He asked for details so we sent quick overview along with links to the bugzilla topic and one of our own topics.  Today, received this reply:

... I need to review this further with our Ryzen Linux engineer to understand the issue in more detail.  Unfortunately, he is currently on leave for the American Thanksgiving holiday and will be back early next week.   Please can you give me until then to get back to you with more information and suggestions.

Looks like there will be no movement until next week, but also thought it was interesting that their "Ryzen Linux engineering team" is apparently one guy. O.o

Interesting... at least that was a rather quick response.  Maybe a tweet about expanding the team of one to at least two is in order?!?  B|

Maybe that explains the slow progress on Linux, the other 999 engineers work on Windows :D

Nope.

Mounting the encryptet volume via SSH.

encrypt Passphrase sdb something like this

Hello all.

Ive been having an issue, that after the server has been running for some time, (more than a week?, undetermined)  That parts of the web UI no longer function.   No issues with non-betas.

Examples:

Update OS, check for updates, doesnt actually check, and status reports "need check"

Starting and stopping the array is impossible, it prompts for are you sure, but it never stops when you hit OK.

on the Main tab, the stats for the drives no longer update.

Clicking on the check parity button, sends request to server, but browser just sits there "waiting for data"

Probably more.?

Tested with windows browser

OSX safari

OSX firefox

Rebooting resolves the issue for a while, that button works, but when server restarts, it reports unclean shutdown detected.

Sure you can do it, read the cryptsetup FAQ.

You really need to post up a diagnostics file that includes the time period when you have experiencing the difficulty.  You can do do this from the GUI   (    Tools   >>>   Diagnostics  ) or from a telnet/ssh session with the   diagnostics  command.)

Ok, I will post the file, if/when the issue arises again.. (in about another week or so, unless its been resolved in the latest beta)

I think you'd be surprised how few engineers are involved in designing some stuff - I used to do IT support for a large semiconductor company, and their global design department consisted of 3 engineers and 2 technicians.  10s of millions of people use their products daily.

Really would surprise me if AMD has less than a dozen people working on Ryzen...

Beware: if you have an encrypted device, say "/dev/sdb1", which is normally part of the parity-protected array, you can 'luksOpen' the device, but if you modify any data it will invalidate parity.
