[6.3.5] Recurring Server crashes

Featured Replies

Dear all,

A couple of months ago I bought a HP ML10 Gen9 to install Unraid on it.

From the beginning I had server crashes every 4 to 7 days. First I thought it was one of my dockers so I removed one by another and tested them.

Then I removed RAM Bars, additional NICs - nothing helped.

The server freezes completley, no input is accepted anymore on the command line.

Then I moved the UnRaid installation to my old HP Microserver (N40L) which I had running for years without issues. After 7 days the server crashed again.

But this time I got at least some more info from the command line.

Can someone check?

Johannes

Hi,

No one with an idea?

Would it make sense to upgrade to 6.4?

Br,

Johannes

I have the same random problem on 6.3.5.

After some googling I found a thread here that was talking about memory issues with the kernel used in 6.3.5

Seems that on some systems, it uses too much memory and runs out of memory, resulting in the whole server to freeze/crash.

Mhh,

In my case I have 2x 8GB and I saw no difference when used both or only one DIMM.

Br,

Johannes

EDIT: Googled for the mentioned issue and I changed now the Disk cache acordingly. Lets see if it helps.
