What's the best way to remote into unraid? My system has impi(I don't really know what all can be done through this connection) but i haven't touched it and I have a pfSense router and haven't looked into setting up openvpn. Is openvpn my best option and does that give me both the ability to manage the unraid server and browse the storage?

I have the exact same setup. I use openvpn from pfsense to access my local network when away. IPMI is a great tool for monitoring your system and can be configured to a port but I highly do not suggest facing IPMI to the internet. Instead  again, openvpn into your local network and you can access IPMI from there.

thanks for the reply, I guess I'll just have to get on the grind and setup openvpn.
