[Solved] [6.4.0-rc14] No SMART for one cache disk

Featured Replies

One of the SSDs in my cache pool (/dev/sdg) is not showing any SMART attributes when I go to its page from the Main or Dashboard pages:

If I grab the diagnostics (attached, below) the relevant SMART report reads:

smartctl 6.5 2016-05-07 r4318 [x86_64-linux-4.13.15-unRAID] (local build)

=======> UNRECOGNIZED OPTION: 1
Use smartctl -h to get a usage summary

and the relevant file name is not consistent with the ones for the other disks, missing "sdg" from between the parentheses:

It responds to smartctl from the command line though and appears to be in a good state of health:

root@Mandaue:~# smartctl -a /dev/sdg
smartctl 6.5 2016-05-07 r4318 [x86_64-linux-4.13.15-unRAID] (local build)

Did you set any more specific SMART settings for this disk, if so clear them? (see Main -> <disk name> -> SMART settings)

  • Author

No, they are at their default values:

5a18398d64d61_ScreenShot2017-11-24at15_22_24.png.741f165886aaab71715498cd448c2588.png

I'll try changing one to something else and toggling it back.

  • Author

Yes, that fixed it. I changed the first option to "Raw", saved it, then changed it back to "Use default" and saved again.

Thank you for the pointer, @bonienl
