Can I use eSata port for internal sata array drive

Featured Replies

I have a new motherboard with fewer internal SATA ports, but it has 2 eSATA ports on the motherboard.

If I get an eSATA to SATA cable and run it from the eSATA port to my internal SATA drive, and power my SATA drive with internal power, will this work for an array drive?

That or I need to buy a pcie sata card, but hoping unraid will read the eSATA port drive just fine?

Yes if it's a supported controller, I assume it's not the model on your sig since it only has one e-sata.
