November 27, 20178 yr Hi there, I believe I need to redo my USB stick as I think something has gotten corrupted. I moved my tower to another room, hooked everything back up, and now it won't connect anymore. I'm able to ping it, and it shows up in my dhcp server. I logged directly into the computer and the gui page is unable to load. Wondering what's the best way to minimize any data loss with setting up the server from scratch? I do know which drive is the Parity drive as well if it matters. Thanks in advance.
November 27, 20178 yr Two Questions. Did it work before you moved it? Can can you connect a monitor and keyboard to the server and see a login prompt? If yes to the second question, login and type diagnostics at the command prompt. That will write the diagnostics file to the logs folder on the Flash Drive. Attach that file to your next upload. If no to that same question, if there is text on the monitor screen, take a good sharp, unblurry picture with no flash spot in it. (It must be easily readable!) Make sure you get all of the text. I would not be in a hurry to redo the Flash Drive. When you take the F;ash Drive out to get the diagnostics file off of it, make a backup of the ENTIRE contents of that drive!
November 27, 20178 yr Author Frank, Everything worked before I moved for months without fail. I made very careful that I hooked everything back up exactly the same way but just not getting anywhere. I did eject all of my drives and installed a spare one I had, loaded the trial of unraid on it, got booted up, and same thing so I think something else is going on. Unfortunately I have no clue what. =/ I'm running PfSense but no changes have been made, I checked my router and DHCP is off and running in AP mode, PfSense is properly assigning the ip, showing it online. Everything else except this computer can get out of the network just fine and dandy, smartthings, nest, phones, computer, etc. =/
November 27, 20178 yr Author Attached pic of the network stuff from unraid. Anything seem out of the normal stuff? Sorry about it being sideways - monitor in portrait mode and phone switched when I took the pic.
November 27, 20178 yr Author Just looking over the br0 it has dropped 44, also the inet says 192.168.1.4, pfsense is static mapped as 10.194.50.201 for the tower - not sure if this is what's causing my issue? if so, any ideas on how to fix it?
November 27, 20178 yr Author Ok so i thought i figured it out and when i was the 168 ip i checked the router and AP mode turned off and the router was assigning dhcp instead of the pfsense box. Fixed that and thought I was going to be good for a second. Still dropping on the server end... =/
November 27, 20178 yr You have captured at least one diagnostics file. It is in the logs folder of your Flash Drive. (See sideways photo in your third post. if you have changed anything since this file was created, generate a another file.) Please post it up BOTH files. The diagnostics file contains much information that is used by Gurus to troubleshoot problems, it can save hours/days to get to the solution by eliminating countless exchanges of posts requesting information! From what I can see, you appear to have a problem with PfSense. This is not that uncommon! I don't use that program but there are many folks who do. I would suggest that you edit the first post of this thread and add this phrase to the Title (PfSense Problem). This will attract the proper folks to look at your thread.
