I am wondering about which setting will improve my play back of media during an unpack or during plex streaming? 

 

During an un pack, if I am watching any media from my Unraid server, the play back will stop  and buffer or will become jerky. I also notice this when someone starts a stream on my plex server.

 

I have my unpacking media going start to the array but wonder if storing them on the cache drive would help?  Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Try pinning cores to solve the unpacking problem 

 

In terms of solving multiple streams, other than getting a more powerful CPU, you could try changing the plex transcoder settings to reduce the CPU strain.
