Copying to a user share is much slower than copying directly to the drive.

I have an Intel Atom 330 mb D945GCLF2 that I am testing UNRAID on as a backup file server. I have two Seagate 1.5 TB attached. Both are set as storage - no parity drive.

If I copy directly to disk 1 or disk2 I get speeds over the network of around 55MB/sec. If I create a user share called data backup and copy to that I get 11-12MB/sec if set to High Water and about 35MB/sec if set to Fill Up. Seems like quite a bit of overhead to copy to a share. Do I have something set incoreectly?

Hmm, maybe.  Copying to a user share is generally a bit slower, but not that much slower.  When you are getting the 11-12 MB/s speeds, perhaps you are copying to a disk that is nearly full?  That doesn't really make sense since it should be 'fill up' that makes you copy to a nearly full disk, but that's the only thing I can think of.  Please describe or post a screenshot of your share settings.
