pakiyabhai
HI, Is there anything equivalent of data scrubbing which is present on Synology NAS? Link to comment
ashman70
Only if you use btrfs as your file system in unraid. There are also plugins that can do checksums which is the same thing. Link to comment
pwm
Note that scrubbing isn't expected to just detect modified data - it's also expected to be able to regenerate that data under the assumption that the incorrect data exists on a single disk and that the parity can be used to regenerate the blocks/files that has incorrect checksum. Are there any plugins that can do actual scrubbing, and not just test checksums? Link to comment

JorgeB
Also does btfrs file system do this? Btrfs scrubs the data and will detect checksum failures, but since every data disk is a separate filesystem it won't be able to correct them. Link to comment
pakiyabhai
So my XFS install is currently useless? Link to comment
ashman70
It's not useless, XFS is a very mature file system with recovery tools of it's own. Do you have your data duplicated or just one copy on your unRAID server? Link to comment
pakiyabhai
I just have 1 copy but Unraid contains media and other items which aren’t important right now . So what’s the best practise to ensure disk integrity with XFs? Link to comment
