migration with existing data

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm running right now a nas with 24tb of data on 2-4 tb drives. Its pooled with mergers on openmediavault with runs as a VM within proxmox. Parity is provided by snapraid.

The pool is about 90% filled and all data drives are ext4. On proxmox level I got an Intel 480gb ssd and some 2.5" drives for vms and their data. This drives are zfs. I'm also using GPU pass through with my gaming windows VM.

Now I'm thinking about moving to unraid. I've got 2 8tb drives, one Seagate archive (data) and 1 Seagate barracuda (parity).

My main goal is to have an good offfset between power consumption, drive wear and availability.

First question would be how to best migrate the existing data and second how to arrange the drives for my main goals.
