6.3.5 - Server locking up - no gui available

Featured Replies

I have been running unRAID for a few days this weekend so its a new install on old hardware.

Have not set up a paritiy disk etc yet just getting used to it before proceeding with the final setup.

The server was unresponsive and locked up this morning, and the gui was not available.

I was able to ssh in and grab the syslog if someone can help me shed some light on this?

I noticed from top that kworker and loop0 was running at 99.9% CPU usage. not sure whats causing this.

I'm also running a few dockers on the system and they were unresponsive as well.

Could it be some bad hardware?

Please advise.

Your log is full of call traces, they started little time after array start, you may have a hardware problem, like bad RAM.

Probably best to run a memtest then? Will that reveal if its a RAM issue 100%?

  • Community Expert

Not 100% but if there are errors there's a problem for sure and it's a good way to start.

Thank you. Will run memtest later today and see if that points me in the right direction.

I installed new RAM today and it seems alot better so far, ran memtest for a while and it shows no errors now. The other day i stopped it at 5000+ errors after just 20 minutes :P

However could someone please have a look at my syslog to verify all is good now?

I see this in red text in syslog:

[ 11.966396] ACPI Error: [DSSP] Namespace lookup failure, AE_NOT_FOUND (20160831/psargs-359)
[ 11.966660] ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\_SB.PCI0.SAT0.SPT4._GTF] (Node ffff88040f06fcf8), AE_NOT_FOUND (20160831/psparse-543)
[ 11.967747] ACPI Error: [DSSP] Namespace lookup failure, AE_NOT_FOUND (20160831/psargs-359)

Any ideas?
