December 4, 20178 yr I've been poking around through many guides and articles but I haven't found a straight answer on if Unraid can take snapshots of a Share. From what I've found, I can format a drive into BTRFS however I can't locate documentation on how to enable snapshots once I've formatted the designated drives. The end goal is to: Harden designated Share against Ransomware. Enable Previous Versions to recovered removed or accidentally deleted files with in a given period. If there is a reasonable work around, please let me know.
December 4, 20178 yr Lots of nice things can be done with individual partitions formatted using btrfs. But to my knowledge there are no GUI support in unRAID, so you need to play around using telnet/ssh command-line interface.
December 4, 20178 yr Community Expert GUI Snapshot support is planned, at least for VM backups, but you can do it now manually, some tips here, though it's more about VM backups the principle is the same to snapshot a user share on a btrfs array device: https://forums.lime-technology.com/topic/51703-vm-faq/?do=findComment&comment=523800
