December 8, 20178 yr I hope someone can help. I have an unRaid server and a windows 10 workstation connected to a APC Smart UPS box, the control via USB is connected PowerChute on the windows 10 system so if there is a power fail the windows machine will invoke a shutdown, I have looked in to the UPS setting on the unRaid GUI but can't figure it out, is there a way to connect or configure the unRaid server to also power down with windows after a power fail.
December 8, 20178 yr I've never tried it with Powerchute connected via USB then try to slave apcupsd to Powerchute that way. Typically use a UPS management card with Powerchute then configure apcupsd using pcnet pointed to the powerchute as client. It may work same way, but not sure. Configure Powerchute software to have unRAID IP as client and set name/pass then configure apcupsd for pcnet and name/pass. Apcupsd should connect with Powerchute over network and Powerchute should talk to the UPS via USB if it works. Assuming the Windows 10 box is to be master (the last one to turn off).
December 8, 20178 yr If the server is powered on all of the time (mine is) it may be easiest to use that as the master device connected to the UPS and then set any other devices up as slaves. The APCUPSD software is already built into unRAID, and is normally not that hard to set up elsewhere - there is a Windows version that you would then configure as a slave, connected via the network. You then don't use the Powerchute software at all. Here's some pointers... http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=47630.msg463837#msg463837
December 9, 20178 yr Author Thanks, I'm going to have a look at APCUPSD for windows, the unraid server is not on all the time but the windows system is on 24/7
