Power Outage Question

Featured Replies

Hey
I will be building a UNRAID Server with 12 x 10TB drives with 2 drives for Parity

The problem is the country that i am in has many power outages, i have a UPS but sometimes the power is out for so long that the UPS wont last.
So the question is if the Unraid server shuts down ungracefully will i have data loss or corruption issues or can the Unraid OS handle ungracefully shut downs?

Do y-u mean FreeNAS as this is the unRAID forums?

UnRAID will normally survive ungraceful shutdowns but there is always an element of risk.   To avoid this it is a good idea to have the server configured to shut itself down when the battery power left in the UPS drops down to a pre-determined Level.
