CPU for 1150

Featured Replies

Hi,

i already asked alot for help on hardware, but since im stunned by the performance of my old CPU (

)

It seems like i dont need DDR4 and 1151 Socket, so im now searching for a 1150 CPU. I already bought new 1600er 16gb RAM.

What would you buy?

Dual Core? Quad Core?

High GHZ low Core, low GHZ much cores?

I think i want: atleast:

1x PCE16x,

H81 compatiblity,

compatible with 16GB 1600er RAM

<65TDP,

iGPU (I dont have an graphic card, so do i need for unraid to run, correct?!?)

I thought about https://geizhals.de/intel-core-i3-4170-bx80646i34170-a1250024.html?hloc=de but i really dont know.

The Core i3-4170 would be a good choice for unRAID.  If you can get a Core i3-4360 or 4370 for a little more that would be good - but the 4170 would be able to handle unRAID and several Dockers.

Note, though, that the 1150 Core i3 is only capable of VT-x.  I believe you were interested in VMs so it’s important to note that these chips aren’t capable of hardware pass-through.

Thanks,

i bought the 4370 althorugh its not much more horse power..

Do unraid clock the cpu down when its not used?

What means ony VT-x? I thought thats what used for VMs.

What does tehy need to pass through? (i dont need it)
