i bought this  controller:

lets say this controller dies, will my data be corrupted or can i just buy another one and be happy?

 

I know its limited to 6gb/s, but this seems to be no problem im getting nearly 900mbits from and to the raid controller, so im happy.

If the controller dies you can use a different one, if it corrupts data while dying it will be a different story, but it's not a recommended controller and you can get an used LSI cheaper than that, I'd choose that option every time.

Problem was, i couldnt get it here and i dont want to flash anything. I just plug it in and it worked. :>

What will happen when it dies while transfering? Max the file which was transfered should be damaged, correct?

Not all LSI controllers need to be flashed, e.g. 9201 and 9207 are plug'n play.

No idea, it doesn't mention the chipset used, most likely and Marvell with a port multiplier, it should work but not recommended also.

They also work with SATA drives, and they can be found used for less than $50.

What do you mean, they work with sata drives, thats what i know, the question is how to connect them

 

OR do youi mea, i can connect sata to the sas ports? Do 9201 has 16x sata port?

We just did...  To connect SATA hard drives to a controller with SAS connectors you need a SFF-8087 Forward Breakout Cable, as mentioned and pictured above.

Seasonic, Corsair - there are a number of good ones but I don't know what you will find in Germany.  Get one with a single 12v rail and run a power supply calculator with all your hard drives, cards, and peripherals.

Is the only difference between i16 and e16, that e16 has 16 outside? So i just need longer cables!? Can u recommend this? Its in a Rack, so u wont see behind anyway.

Yeah, the "i" is for internal connectors and the "e" is external connectors.  Be careful on the cable length, though - you don't want to go too long or you can have issues.  In the US we get many of these SAS/SATA controllers on eBay, pulled from corporate servers which are being decomm'd.

I swaped the sata ports and it seems atleast to be much better:

one time in ~30 min parity - at 150mb/s - all dockers enabled.

 

I guess this works until i got the new raid controller.

 

I also swapped molex port. Could still be the sata cables, bc they hm i guess, not rly fit tight.

Please tell me, this works together (i also bought 2 9201 e16, bc of price, and if i need replace sometime).

 

I was looking for a PSU. The highest i found was 6 sata power thingys. i could split them to 12, where how do you connect your drives with power? I dont want to split molex, bc it seems so cheap, i dont know.
