I'm SO tempted to build another unRAID server (which I don't really need) and I'm afraid a killer deal on one or more of these component might just throw me over the edge.

Haha, a bit selfish, eh?  I completely understand, though, I currently have 3 unRAID servers that I built from 'deals I couldn't refuse'.  Hopefully I'll be able to sell them off eventually, but for now it is pretty ridiculous.

Yep, that extra $30 for the second pro key is going to end up costing me a small fortune if I can't get this urge under control. 

I have 3 also.

 

Small (5 disk)

Medium (9 Disk)

Large (20 Disks) In progress.

 

I will probably move my most commonly used files to the Norco DS-520G 5 disk array.

(documents, downloads, pics, music, recent backups and recent DVD rips)

 

I will then move the archival backups and movie backups to the large array.

 

I can't see powering a 20 drive array all the time.

I have not fully decided what I'm doing with the 9 drive array.

Once I get moved into my house and figure out were I want to put everything I am probably going to do something similar to what you are doing WeeboTech.

 

1 big machine for storage

1 machine for torrent downloads and misc files that I access a lot

1 machine for CrashPlan backups for the entire family.

 

Have not quite decided on how big i want to make some of these but the Crashplan machine wil probably be "fairly small" and run on the free version of unRAID. The torrent machine will probably run on Plus, and the big guy will probably run on my current Pro license.
