Wanting to mount a 2.5 SSD into a half height 2u norco slot

Has anyone had any success doing this?  I cannot seem to find a mounting bracket compatible with Half height.  I suspect maybe the drive is wider than the slot is tall?

 

I found some from startech that mount in empty slots, and I even found some PCI 1x cards that the SSD will mount directly to and get power form the slot (nice), but they are all full height it seems.

 

Seems like I should have bought the 24 bay norco rather than the 12 bay :)

 

Is Velcro really my only option here?

    Your best bet is a PCI-E M.2 card, and use a cheap NVMe drive like the Intel 600p.  A 2.5" drive is too big for a low profile slot.
