Mount button not enabled for unassigned devices

Featured Replies

I want to mount the new hard disk to acces the files from it and copy it to the new place inside nas. One thing i did was previously this hard disc was on another system i ran unraid in trial mode and tried to access the files inside it. Then i backed out because the unraid wanted me to format the drive if i want to run the array. But the hard disc turned into RAW file format when i tried to acces the files inside the hard drive.

So i thought i  can now add to a live unraid system and proceed with unassigned and krusader plugin to access the files. But that seems like a dead end here :/

The mount button in the main for unassigned isn't available. Someone ? any idea what i sud do here?

Probably not going to be what you want to hear, but there's a "undocumented feature" and/or bug in 6.3 where regardless of whether you format the drive or not when it gets assigned to the array unRaid would automatically repartition the drive to match its requirements.  (BTW, this is fixed in 6.4)

I believe that some other users that got hit by this tossed the drive back into a baremetal windows box and then ran some partition recovery tools on it.

Other users in the same situation had success using Testdisk to recover the original partition layout.

Yeah man used easeus to recover the files. Still missing certain files though. But that did helped me a lot.
