Converted drives to xfs but what about cache drive?

Featured Replies

I have converted my drives to xfs by following the instructions but I am wondering if I am supposed to also convert my cache drive to xfs also and if so do I follow the same procedure?

You can use whatever file system you want on your cache drive, however if you want to use more than 1 drive as cache you're forced to use BTRFS. I myself use XFS for my single cache drive and all the array drives too. The XFS file system has less quirks and oddities than BTRFS at this point in time.

It's been so long since I did the RFS to XFS that I don't remember the exact steps for the cache drive, and even if I did it's likely things have changed over the 2+ years time.
