December 19, 20178 yr Hi, just thought I'd get some feedback on how best to create a share and split levels for my photos. Not sure if I'm making my photo folders too complicated... I have sitting on my hard drive the following root folder Photos --> beneath this I have the following folders Finished Photos, Raw Photos, Videos Then beneath Finished Photos I have the following Travel Photos, Family Photos, Dog Photos etc Beneath Travel Photos I have 2017 - Namibia, 2016 - Tanzania, 2015 - Morocco etc Beneath Raw Photos I have Travel Photos, Family Photos Beneath Travel Photos I have 2017 - Namibia, 2016 - Tanzania etc... The way I see it the deepest folder structure will read like Photos\Finished Photos\Travel Photos\<country of photo I guess split level 4 would be best to keep my countries all together? Originally I had my raw photos in the same folder as the jpegs but in separate folder so 2017 - Namibia and within that a folder called Raw and one called Finished. But the problem is when I have apps pointing to those folders to view my photos I only want the jpegs picked up and not the raws, ie using my Nvidia Shield TV. I use Emby and an put a file called Ignore.bat in the raw folder so it's ignored for display but not sure if that's the best way. Anyhow just thought I'd get some opinions from those that may have similar problems.
December 19, 20178 yr Community Expert Go to this section of the unofficial WIKI and print out this section of the manual: https://wiki.lime-technology.com/Un-Official_UnRAID_Manual#Split_level You can write the names for each sub-level that you want and quickly determine exactly what the split level should be. It also explains how you can set-up your data trees for those cases where you might have conflicting split levels in a share.
