December 19, 20178 yr It would be good if the management interface had support for multiple backup plans for the RAID configurations and actively tried to get the user to make use of these. The support thread shows that there are regularly people who manages to lose the configuration information from their USB stick and do not have any backup. As unRAID continues to evolve, more and more configuration settings are added, constantly increasing the amount of time for people to try to recreate the information. Some suitable alternatives: - Support to configure and automatically store a copy of the configuration to at least two (in case of a single parity system) or three (in case of dual-parity systems) data disks. Not perfect since the data disks needs to be mounted to get access to the data but still giving a good off-line backup in a way that forum support can help locate and restore. - Popup suggestion to mail a zip with the configuration (possibly even with before/after configuration) when the user has made core configuration changes. - Ability to set up cloud backup synchronization.
