GPU virtualization (virtio-gpu, virGL, sr-iov, MxGPU, VDI, spice)

Featured Replies

There are real SR-IOV GPUs hitting the secondhand market now, namely Radeon Instinct Mi25, though getting them to work is still a puzzle, I am stuck at passing through the virtual function (partition virtual pcie device) as it expects vf_token that I can't see any way to specify right now in libvirt or qemu, but we're certainly going in the right direction ;)

I have created this PR https://github.com/limetech/webgui/pull/1148 to add spice support.

How is your experience with the spice-html5 client? For an outsider, the client library looks like a tech preview and hasn't really received a lot of updates in the past. The only other relevant project I could find is this flexVDI/spice-web-client. I don't know how it compares. Don't get me wrong, I am just curious and want to hear your feedback.

Linux seems fine. Windows can be a little sluggish with html5, but you can also use remote viewer to connect.

With spice you can use USBRedirect also. But have not added support for this as yet. Will look at flexVDI.

Hello there.
I might be resurrecting some old thread, but do we have VGPU support on UnraidOs now ? 🙂
All the best

Sincerely

Oh I hope so and if not, hopefully soon. I have a Tesla P4 waiting ot be used with Parsec. 😀

VirGL supports video decoding acceleration (and actually recently added some encoding acceleration) which might be an even bigger boon than its 3D acceleration. I'd really like to have access to that.
