December 24, 20178 yr ok, so I just upgraded my server now it's 2x xeon E5 2660v2, and 32GB of ram (another 32GB otw) installed docker for plex, it is working but it seems to be having small stutters every few seconds on a single stream, depending on what I play it with only device it actually seems to work well on is shield TV. Lots of issues on dreamlink T1, and even some issues using the browser player. I have it set up to use RAM for transcoding mapped to /tmp as I read in a setup guide on this forum. I am not sure if it's actually transcoding and maybe that's the problem that it's not and the end device is having issues playing it direct, but there is no option in the android app to force transcode anymore it seems, so I am not sure what to try to figure out what is happening, the server should be plenty powerful for a single stream.
December 24, 20178 yr More additional Infos needed: Which Plex-distro? VMs running? How many Cores for "Plex only"? Clients? Transcoding? On which client you have the stutter? My Plex-installation is running on a SSD. Plex in "RAM-only" was never working perfect for me - maybe thats the reason. I use OpenPHT on PCs, XBox 360 App, Raspberry Pi3 (OpenPHT), Android and my old iPad - no stutter at all. It can also be an issue on your client with special audio-settinge. Check, if audio setup is correct. Edited December 24, 20178 yr by Zonediver
December 24, 20178 yr Author distro is linuxserver Plex Server Version 1.11.0.4633 installed on SSD cache drive wiith transcode in RAM no VMs running not sure how to specify plex only cores in the docker, so default clients I have used web chrome, windows, and android, also now kodi plex on android I have only been using one at a time for testing purposes. as for transcoding, I can turn off problem client is mainly android it seems on dreamlink t1 works fine on kodi plex on the same box. also plex web chrome sometimes stutters sometimes not, if I uncheck direct stream it works fine android does not have this option anymore it seems to could not test that there.

December 24, 20178 yr I have theses issues too, stuttering on single or multiple streams, different clients, different connectivities, different play types. At first I thought it was the transcoder too but after changing it to RAM I am not sure how else that can affect the streams. I am on the linux server docker so am going to try the limetech version and see if that makes a difference. Any other ideas?

Dont transcode to the RAM and see what happens. Edited December 25, 20178 yr by Zonediver
December 25, 20178 yr I had a similar problem with my fire tv box. It would shutter for a few seconds every few minutes.I ended up downgrading the plex app on fire tv and everything is working great. Not sure about the web Chrome but it should work for your Android device. I followed this https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/286319/how-to-downgrade-to-older-version-of-plex-on-firetvSent from my LG-LS993 using Tapatalk
