The last two days have been a doozy, I'm sure I made plenty of mistakes trying to get my machine back up and running. All of the files on my cache drive aren't too important, mostly just trying to avoid having to re do the plex thumbnails. But anyways, yesterday I was in a cache pool and my drives went read only and I eventually couldn't access them so I essentially wiped them and took away one of the cache drives that I thought was having a problem and followed the instructions to remove the pool and just use one drive for the cache again. I restored the dockers that I use from a backup that was about a month old and all seemed to be well. I woke up this morning and noticed that my cache drive was in read only again. I wasn't able to do a smart test on the cache drive until after a reboot but before I rebooted I downloaded the logs. At this point I am at a loss as to what is going on and if I need to get a brand new cache drive or not? Any help would be greatly appreciated. would it be best to just start completely fresh with the cache and not restore a month old backup? Also, there was a warning in fix common problems about call traces found on your server, it seems like it is a repercussion of the cache drive having problems? I did add some more RAM 4 days ago.

You have 4 devices, including both cache devices, on the Marvell controller, they are a know problem on those Asrock boards, you don't want to use the first 4 white SATA ports ever.

 

 

 

 

Hmmm! I did just add some drives and wasn't even thinking about where I was putting the sata cables. I will try moving the cables around and get them off the marvell controller, it may be time for a pcie card with some breakout cables. Yes, that controller will drop all disks sooner or latter, usually sooner, from your syslog, guess where ATA 7,8,9 and 10 are connected:
