December 30, 20178 yr I've been playing with an install for the past few days and figured I would re-purpose an old GPU (Asus ATI 4670) for VM. My server has been booting without issue, until I installed the GPU. Now it will reach the boot mode selection page and auto select the headless option. From here it will hang for 30 seconds on bzroot, before crashing back to BIOS. However when I select to boot into the GUI interface, it boots successfully. I can then pass-through to a Win 10 VM without issue. Side note, when I ran 2D Graphics in Performance Test, this cards put out a rather low 400, worse than the build in chip which reaches 600. However off-loading the graphics from the CPU has improved the overall responsiveness of the VM. Hardware is: M/B: Supermicro - X11SSH-LN4F CPU: Intel Xeon CPU E3-1230 v5 @ 3.40GHz RAM: 1x 16GB ECC Kingston 2133 Parity: 2x 8TB Seagate Cache and VM: 2x RAID1 Samsung EVO 500GB Data: Various 5-8TB drives Are there any settings which may cause this? My BIOS is set to output to the Integrated graphics only, ignoring the 4670. I've changed this around without success.
