Problems with booting v6.2

Featured Replies

Hi,

i have my server running for about 1 year and 4 months. Yesterday i made an exchange to a bigger hd as usual. The new hd is NOT larger as the parity drive btw.

Rebuild worked normally. Today the rebuild was done, but the new disc was marked as faulty and parity was ok. I made a reboot and mounted the drive again, but it was marked faulty again.

I made a shutdown and took oft the faulty disc. I made a restart and nothing happened. I plugged in a monitor and saw a blinking cursor. Now comes the interesting thing: Thru several tests i found out, i can boot other flashdrives, but i can‘t boot the unraid drive. I cloned the drive and made it bootable. Nothing worked. Do you have any idea?

Plug the Flash drive in your PC.

First, try to copy all of the files off of that flash drive to a folder on your PC.  If there are any problems, make sure to try to get a complete copy of the config directory/folder.  (That directory contains all of the configuration information on your server.)

Second, run chkdsk on the flash drive to see if there are any problems with it.  If it fixes the drive, connect a monitor (if not already hooked up) and try to boot again.  If it boots, get a diagnostics file and upload the file with your next post.  Otherwise, report back with what you see happening on the monitor.
