January 2, 20188 yr Hello This might be a really basic question, and I apologize if it's been asked elsewhere, but I want to add more storage (2.5 inch HDD's and SSD's) to my UnRAID server and I'm wondering what the best way of doing this is, as I've used up the eight SATA ports on my Z370 motherboard. Should I use a SAS controller and a SAS breakout cable? Any suggestions as to which hardware to go for?
January 2, 20188 yr Author My bad, it looks as though this has been addressed in a post by Rajahal. I have yet to read the whole thread, but it seems to address this very point.
January 4, 20188 yr Be carefull to use a "compatible" Controller for unraid and beware that SAS-Disk will not go to sleep (if you need this feature), as far as i know. Edited January 4, 20188 yr by Zonediver
