Hi I get connection failed on both these shares trying to connect with my Mac and Debian machine.

I have reinstalled on a new USB and still get this error :(

It was working before my trial ended, then I bought the license and it didn't work.

 

Edit:

AFP works on my Debian to browse but I cannot perform a time machine backup on my mac.

    I would recommend that you attempt your connection and then, after the connection fails, download your diagnostics.zip file and attach it to your next post with exact details of what you were attempting and the error message you got.
