January 3, 20188 yr Hi, I am new to unraid, but I had it working fine for a few months, I stopped the Array and powered down over the holidays while I was away. I went to restart tonight and it shows both of my Disks missing, The parity is good, and so is the cache. I haven't done anything other than a restart. I've checked the form but I haven't seen a solution to this problem. January 3, 20188 yr In the future please post the diagnostics zip as a single file. Missing disks are not being detected, check cabling, you can see if they are detected in the bios, also take the opportunity to change your IDE controller to AHCI, it might have reverted to IDE mode e.g. because of a low CMOS battery and be causing issues: Jan 2 20:36:26 StarKillerBase kernel: ata2.00: link is slow to respond, please be patient (ready=0) Jan 2 20:36:26 StarKillerBase kernel: ata2.00: SRST failed (errno=-16) Jan 2 20:36:26 StarKillerBase kernel: ata2.00: link is slow to respond, please be patient (ready=0) Jan 2 20:36:26 StarKillerBase kernel: ata2.00: SRST failed (errno=-16) Jan 2 20:36:26 StarKillerBase kernel: ata2.00: link is slow to respond, please be patient (ready=0) Jan 2 20:36:26 StarKillerBase kernel: ata2.00: SRST failed (errno=-16) Jan 2 20:36:26 StarKillerBase kernel: ata2.00: limiting SATA link speed to 1.5 Gbps Jan 2 20:36:26 StarKillerBase kernel: ata2.01: limiting SATA link speed to 1.5 Gbps Jan 2 20:36:26 StarKillerBase kernel: ata2.00: SRST failed (errno=-16) Jan 2 20:36:26 StarKillerBase kernel: ata2.00: reset failed, giving up
January 3, 20188 yr As well do they share the same power cable? Like johnnie.black said make sure they are being seen in your Bios on Boot Up. Thats typically a very good indicator there is a problem if it isn't.
January 3, 20188 yr I dont know if it will be related but i had the same issue this holiday. Turned out to be cable issue. The thing is, most of us, when we power down the server, its to move it. So don't panic immediately
January 5, 20188 yr Author Thanks for your help, I haven’t move the computer and I checked all the cables, I also rearranged the cables. I got one more of the WD disks to show up after I changed to AHCI. I was wondering if this might be more of a mother board issue.
