4.5.4 Does not create shares on new disk (solved)

Featured Replies

The title is slightly misleading, it did create one share when I was saving images from Internet Explorer. However, after that first share it did not create the other share folders.

When I copy large files to any share, the copy continues until the disk is full, then gives an error.

This occurs with the normal windows copy as well as teracopy. I've removed and re-added the disk, I've restarted the server, no joy.

When I manually create a folder with a share name on the disk, eg 'MOVIES' and add a file,  it will be shown in the share. But when writing to the share it will not go to the disk.

I tried setting shares to 'high water' and 'most free', neither works.

TLDR; unRaid will rather try and write on a full disk than create shares on a newly added disk.

Any ideas?

What is your "split level" set to for that share??

  • Author

Shame on me! The 2 I tried were the first ones to be created and had a split level of 0. The share that worked was newer and had split level left blank.

Incidentally, should I leave split level blank or put 999?
