January 6, 20188 yr Greetings all, because of Meltdown/Spectre I want to switch from stable to next, but what are the recommended steps to do this? Backup from the USB-drive, ...? And do you guys think the current RCs are useable for a productive setup? I know that no one will guarentee this, just asking for you opinions here.
January 6, 20188 yr Note that Meltdown/Spectre requires hostile code in some form to run on your machine. So it isn't dangerous to a NAS. It basically needs that you in some way run hostile code in a Docker or VM.
January 7, 20188 yr You don't need to do anything special - unRAID backs up the previous version at every update.
January 7, 20188 yr Perform Parity Check on Old Version Backup on Old Version of USB Boot Device Backup on Old Version of Docker Settings Upgrade to New System Quick system functionality tests including Dockers/VMs and shares. Perform Parity Check on New Version At least that's the quick list of steps I can see being useful.
