Moving discs and settings because of Plex

Featured Replies

hello :)
So I have two unraid boxes, one running a i-7 960 and one with an Pentium G4400

I have always had the plex server on the i7 one because this cpu has more points in  passmark, but I always have had problems with remote transcoding.

Finally took some tests with verbose logging in plex and found out the  i7 dont manage a speed more than max 0.8  and the pentium 1.5 to 1.8 (real time encoding beeing 1.0)

Looks like passmark is not all to look at, but arcitecture too when it comes to plex  and how old it is)

So I want to move my main server to the newer hardware.

Is it as easy as moving the drives over and the usb?

yes, but note your drive order/assignments beforehand just to be safe.
